What is a Function Band?
A function band is a group, usually made up from professional musicians, which
you can book as a form of live entertainment for a function. This can include
weddings, corporate events for business, parties to mark special occasions,
or indeed any other event where you think a live band would liven the atmosphere.
Function bands play covers of popular songs, usually from a mix of the past
several decades, although you can sometimes book 'specialist' groups who focus
on a particular style or a famous artist (indeed you can book tribute bands
who do nothing but emulate their more famous counterparts). A typical function
band will play a range of funk, soul, disco and pop music by artists such as
Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, The Crusaders, Kool and the Gang, sometimes
throwing in recent chart hits by artists like Beyonce and Ms Dynamite. In short,
whatever type of music you're looking for at your event, the chances are someone
will fit the description perfectly, and you've probably come to the best place
